Have you seen it? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. The viral video of the day…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3yRv5Jg5TI
I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, but this mother’s sheer abandon to giddiness is infectious. What I wouldn’t give to live every moment in abandon like that! My day has been wrought with worry and frustration. I spent a good deal of time registering for fall classes today only to find the classes I need are already full with no extra seats. As “worry” is my go-to emotion (or as my techie hubby calls it, my “default” emotion), I didn’t even stop to consider a NEW way to handle the pressure of this provision on my life. Oswald Chambers in his devotion My Utmost for His Highest reminds us that “the greatest word of Jesus to His disciples is abandon“(Chambers, 1992. May 23). It’s the “cares of this world” (Matthew 13:22, NKJV) that choke out my ability to abandon it to the Spirit of God. I resolve to find a NEW approach…abandonment. May you find your inner Chewbacca and abandon it all to the One who instructs us “…do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on” (Matthew 6:25, NKJV). Blessings and may the force be with you friends!
Grace & Peace,
